　　Directions: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a short essay entitled My View

　　on the Price of Housing in China. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given

　　below:

　　1. 目前我国住房价格偏高

　　3. 解决办法

　　My View on the Price of Housing in China

　　There is no denying the fact that the high price of housing is a heated topic nowadays in most parts of China. In the past few years, the price of housing has been soaring at an alarming speed, particularly in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Actually, the price of housing has gone far beyond the means of average Chinese, inviting widespread social complaints.

　　A number of factors could account for the high price of housing, but the following are the most critical ones. First, the previous reform has gone too far in pushing housing into the market. As a result, with an eye to make profits, many real estate businessmen raised the price of houses and apartments. Secondly, the government failed to encourage the construction of economical apartments, which resulted in the imbalance in the distribution of housing resources.

　　In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First it is essential that laws and regulations be formulated and enforced to make the price of housing transparent and reasonable. Meanwhile, more average apartments should be built to meet the needs of low-income citizens. With these measures taken, it is reasonable for us to expect a bright future.
