Doctor Gray: Good Afternoon, everyone, I’m Vincent Gray.
Interviewer: Doctor Gray, how many vitamins are there in food?
Doctor Gray: Up to now, about fifty different vitamins have been identified. But only a few of them are familiar to people.
Interviewer: (1)_______
Doctor Gray: Well, do you know Vitamin A?
Interviewer: Yes. It is said Vitamin A is most important for good eyesight.
Doctor Gray: Right, but it is also important for general good health.
Interviewer: (2)_______
Doctor Gray: Liver contains a considerable amount of vitamin A, but vitamin A is also found in fish, meat, milk, butter and so on.
Interviewer: Apart from Vitamin A, we know Vitamin B, C and D. Are they as important as Vitamin A?
Doctor Gray: (3)______ Vitamin B consists of twelve different chemicals, which are found in eggs, cheese, and vegetables. If a person has an inadequate amount of vitamin B in his diet, this may affect his whole body, particularly the skin, the nervous system and the heart. Vitamin C helps to heal injuries. Large quantities of vitamin C help people to avoid colds. Fruits and uncooked vegetables are rich in vitamin C, but when they are overcooked, or left for a long time, they lose most of their vitamins.
Interviewer: And what about Vitamin D?
Doctor Gray: (4)___________ Vitamin D is the only vitamin that the body can make for itself, but it can only do this if there is sufficient sunlight. A lack of both sunlight and vitamin D can result in a disease called rickets, which causes bones to soften and to be deformed.
Interviewer: So we should enjoy both Vitamin D and sunlight.
Doctor Gray: Actually, a well-balanced diet will provide an adequate amount of vitamins.
